CBS Rockabilly

Another one from today's Boot Sale, I have hears of Johnny Horton and the Collins Kids I have a couple of Collins Kids CD's, I doubt if the tracks had a UK issue in the 1950's.

There is a misprint on the Collins Kids track on the cover it is Beetle Bug Bop on the label it is Beetle Bug Pop.

There is now a second Boot Sale in Ewell one of the old sites Priest Hill has reopened, this was used when Hook Road was still used for sport. Priest Hill is a massive site that was once Inner London Education Authority (ILEA) playing fields, that have been disused since the demise of the GLC and ILEA, there were about 100 cars at that sale, The ground at Hook Road is London Clay but at Priests Hill it is on the South Downs Chalk, Ewell is on the Bourne Line were the London Clay meets the Chalk of the South Downs on the chalk areas you can have torrential rain for hours but  within the hour it will be dry, the clay areas will be flooded.

I have arranged a sea fishing trip from Brighton for Tuesday out to the wrecks to try and catch some Cod.

  1. All crazy enough rockabilly. My main interest is the Johnny Horton track - is he the "North To Alaska" and "Battle Of New Orleans" Johnny Horton?

  2. One and the same Johnny Horton people.
Used to have this e.p. years ago . It was a taster for the C.B.S. Rockabilly series of LP's which had three volumes ( some of the best Rockabilly we had hold of in the 1970's !)
The Lp's as like anything else are now available on cd !
